How to Choose a lubricant
Lubes come in a variety of types:
- silicone
- oil
- hybrid, are a combination of both water and silicone formulas.
Water-based
Most popular, water-based lubes can be used in practically any activity involving silicone toys. It is safe to use with condoms- both latex and non-latex. Water based lubes are most popular for three reasons: it will not stain your sheets, it’s easy on the skin, and it washes off easily in water.
Silicone-based
Silicone is hypoallergenic, this lube is longer lasting so need to be reapplied less often. The downside - silicone lube can deteriorate the surface of silicone toys.
Oil-based
Oil-based lubes might be a preference for a seasoned user. Oil based lubes are not recommended for use with a latex condom. This type of lube also increases the chances of a ripped or torn condom. Oil-based lubricants tend to stain sheets and clothing. and can also be difficult to clean up.

Natural lubes have been gaining popularity. Check the list of ingredients if you are looking for this type of product.
